Who is behind Four All Ice Cream?

 

 

Ajoa, Owner and Chief Ice Cream Maker, created Four All with the dream of making handcrafted ice cream using all-natural, locally-sourced ingredients in order to provide a better choice for all ice cream lovers who want to indulge in a sweet treat without compromise to their well-being.

 

Her obsession with hand-crafted ice cream began during a heatwave in August 2003 when, instead of an air-conditioner she bought an ice cream machine.  Not only did she save money, the ice cream from the little machine was so good!  Fast forward to now, tons of ice cream experiments later, we're making the best possible ice cream we can in Kitchener-Waterloo.

 

We opened the doors of our factory and Tasting Room in Kitchener's old Bonnie Stuart factory building on Whitney Place in May of 2017. After one full season of business, the K-W community let us know they believed in what we were doing and we decided to expand. That's when we opened the Four All Cone Counter inside the Graffiti Market near Belmont Village in Kitchener. At our new location, we've been making our own gluten-free cones to go with your ice cream, but the experimenting didn't stop there... We also make ice cream tacos! For the 2018 winter season, we've decided to take over the Tasting Room space and dedicate it to increasing our ice cream production - but not to fret! The Tasting Room will re-open in the Spring of 2019 and you can still visit us on Whitney Place by appointment. In the meantime, the Cone Counter will be open all year long for all your ice cream needs.

 

We wouldn't be able to make such magical ice cream creations without our special team ice cream sorcerers: In the factory, we have Sarah and Nick making all our ice creams. At the Cone Counter, you’ll find our Scooperistas Kelsey, Amy, Melodie, Madison, Elena, Courtney and Katherine, being led by Hannah. How does Four All Ice Cream make better ice cream?

 

We start our ice cream with fresh, all-natural, local Guernsey cow milk from Eby Manor farm, combined with local cream.  To get the freshest, richest flavour we pasteurize our ice cream base ourselves in small batches at our Kitchener facility; which is the smallest dairy plant in Ontario (400 square feet)! From there we combine local and/or responsibly sourced ingredients from small farmers, bean-to-bar chocolate makers, small-batch coffee roasters, and local distillers and brewers in order to achieve robust, full, deep flavour profiles - which are best described as "tasting deliciously real".

 

Four All Ice Cream is better because through our partnerships with local farmers, producers & other small-batch manufacturers we create fresh and seasonal flavours that support local and showcase the best of Kitchener-Waterloo region. We are continuously looking to collaborate with creative minds and makers! What's with the name Four All? Does it mean anything?

 

 

The name Four All is inspired by Ajoa's family of four's ice cream preferences.  Her husband is into classic time-tested flavours, like a creamy vanilla.  Her oldest daughter's milk sensitivities has her reaching for vegan or dairy-free options; raspberry sorbet is a favourite.  Her youngest daughter always chooses flavours that are reminiscent of childhood; mint chip for example. While Ajoa's tastes veer towards foodie flavours inspired by interesting culinary combinations, like whiskey, caramel with spiced pecans.  In dreaming up new flavours to satisfy all four of them the name Four All Ice Cream was born.  

 

Being mindful to ensure there would always be a choice for all ice cream lovers, four flavour categories were created: CLASSIC - Timeless. Understated. Constant., VEGAN - Mindful and Delightful, CHILDHOOD - Throwback Goodness, FOODIE - Adventures in Ice Cream.

As we grow, Four All Ice Cream will remain natural, local and mindful so that we can continue to make ICE CREAM FOR THE PEOPLE!

 

Looking for ways to bring Four All Ice Cream to the people?

 

We retail - Visit The Cone Counter at the Graffiti Market in Kitchener. We’re open Monday-Wednesday 12pm-10pm, Thursday-Saturday 12pm-11pm, and Sunday 12pm-10pm. You can also visit our Factory at 141 Whitney Place #105 in Kitchener by appointment until we re-open for retail in Spring 2019. Our door is around the back of the old Bonnie Stuart factory building.

 

We wholesale - Our choice to be a licensed dairy facility was important for two reasons: to make ice cream from scratch and to wholesale our ice cream to other small businesses around KW!
