Feature Flavour Friday: Sponge Toffee

Look out because our newest Childhood flavour Sponge Toffee is a whole lot of science and a whole lot of yummy!


Four All Ice Cream


We love making our flavours from scratch, especially when they are as interesting as sponge toffee. This is how it works: we start by making something similar to a caramel but we use honey. Next we add baking soda, which reacts with the acidity of the honey causing it to bubble up and grow 10 times the size!

We pour out the sponge toffee to lay on a tray then we let it cool and harden. When it's ready, we smash it into smaller bits that get tossed into our classic vanilla ice cream base.


You can get a scoop or cube at the Tasting Room this weekend Friday-Saturday 12-7pm and Sunday 12-5pm.
